Best POS and QR menu systems for restaurants in 2026
We compared seven systems that restaurants and cafés use to run the till, send orders to the kitchen and show the menu on guests' phones. Moymenyu publishes this guide and makes one of the seven, and we put it first, so weigh our pick with that in mind. Plans change often: check every price on the vendor's own site before you decide.
How we compared them
A POS (point of sale) is the till: it takes orders, prints tickets for the kitchen and closes the bill. A QR menu is the menu guests open with their phone camera, with no app to install. Some systems do both, some do one, and the right one depends on the venue. We looked at the same points for each:
- A free plan, and what it leaves out.
- A QR menu that opens in the phone browser.
- Ordering from the table and a kitchen screen or printed kitchen tickets.
- A POS for the counter: which device it runs on, and what hardware it needs.
- The languages the menu shows, and the currencies its prices can be in.
- Where it is sold: a system only helps if it works in your country.
We checked public information in October 2026. Prices and plans change, so treat the figures below as a starting point and confirm them with each vendor.
The seven systems
In the order we would suggest them to a café or a small restaurant that wants to start with a QR menu and grow into ordering and a POS.
1. Moymenyu: our pick for a free QR menu and an affordable POS
Best for: cafés and small restaurants that want a QR menu today, in any country, and a POS with a kitchen screen when they are ready. Moymenyu writes this guide, so this is our own product.
- Basic QR is free with no time limit: a menu with categories, dish photos, sizes, diet and allergen tags and a sold-out switch, a cart guests show to the waiter, table games, 16 designs, a QR code for every table plus one for the venue, and print templates.
- Three languages: the menu opens in English, Russian or Azerbaijani to match the guest's phone, in English for any other phone language, and there is a language switch.
- Prices in your currency on Basic QR: 21 menu currencies, from the US dollar, euro and pound to the Uzbek som, Pakistani rupee, Malaysian ringgit and Indonesian rupiah. On the paid packages, prices are in manat.
- Growth at $7 a month adds orders from the table straight to the kitchen, the kitchen screen, thermal printer tickets, the Moymenyu Desk POS for Windows (tables, counter sales, cash shifts), unlimited staff accounts, sales reports and the bill-split view. Full Kitchen at $12 adds online card payment, which is not live yet.
- No new hardware for the menu: guests use their own phones, and Desk runs on a Windows computer you may already have.
Keep in mind: the paid packages are available to venues in any country and invoiced in manat (1 USD = 1.70 ₼). Basic QR works everywhere, and Moymenyu is expanding to Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Russia, Malaysia and Indonesia. See the free QR menu page, or sign up free now.
2. Clopos: a cloud POS from Azerbaijan
Best for: restaurants and chains in Azerbaijan and Central Asia that want a cloud POS with delivery apps connected; Clopos also serves Türkiye and other countries.
- A cloud POS with a kitchen display, QR menus and an app for the owner.
- Connections to delivery services such as Wolt, Bolt Food and Yandex Eats, according to the company.
- Sold as a subscription: Start at 59 ₼ or Standard at 99 ₼ a month, 20% less when paid yearly, according to its pricing page (October 2026). The QR menu (19 ₼), the kitchen screen (30 ₼) and each delivery app connection (19 ₼) are monthly modules on top.
Keep in mind: if the menu is all you need for now, add up the plan and the QR menu module and compare that with a free QR menu.
3. iiko: restaurant management for Russia and the CIS
Best for: larger restaurants and groups in Russia and the CIS that want the POS, the kitchen and the back office (stock, recipes, reports) in one system.
- Broad restaurant automation: modules for the dining room, the kitchen and the back office.
- Used by more than 80,000 restaurants in 9 countries, according to the company; local partners sell it and support users.
- Monthly plans from 2,500 ₽ for a coffee point or food truck, and from 8,600 ₽ for restaurants and chains with the price set by the number of tills, according to its pricing page (October 2026).
- A QR menu for guests to browse comes with every plan; QR ordering and payment at the table come with the Cafe plan (5,000 ₽ a month) and cost extra on the plans for restaurants and chains.
Keep in mind: on the plans for restaurants and chains the price grows with the number of tills, and the kitchen screen and QR ordering cost extra, so add them up for all your sites.
4. Poster: a cloud POS for cafés and bars
Best for: coffee shops, cafés and bars that want a simple cloud POS on a tablet.
- Monthly plans set by menu size and features, with no free plan: Mini, Business and Pro at $29, $49 and $69 a month, less when paid yearly, according to its English pricing page (October 2026). Some countries also have a smaller Starter plan and prices in local currency.
- The kitchen screen and a waiter app are add-on modules from the Business plan up.
- A QR menu is offered as a separate add-on.
Keep in mind: add the QR menu add-on to the plan price when you compare costs.
5. Loyverse: a free POS app
Best for: small cafés, food trucks and shops that want a free POS app on a phone or tablet.
- The core POS is free, including a kitchen display app, a customer display and a loyalty program.
- Paid add-ons, according to its pricing page (October 2026): employee management, advanced inventory and sales history beyond the last 31 days. Employee management is priced differently by country, so check the prices on its pricing page.
- No built-in QR menu: QR menus and table ordering come from third-party apps in its marketplace.
Keep in mind: for a QR menu you add a separate app, and some of those apps are paid.
6. Square for Restaurants: a POS with card payments built in
Best for: venues in the countries Square serves (such as the US, Canada, the UK and Australia) that want the POS and card payments from one company.
- A free plan for the basic POS, and paid plans with more restaurant features.
