What MoyMenu Desk does
MoyMenu Desk is the till for your restaurant or café. It runs on a Windows computer at the counter and covers the work between a guest's order and a closed bill:
- Tables and halls. See your tables hall by hall, open a table, add dishes and send the order to the kitchen.
- Counter sales. Ring up takeaway and walk-in orders without opening a table.
- Retail sales. Sell packaged goods from your own product list. Find a product by name or SKU, or scan its barcode.
- Kitchen screen and tickets. Orders reach the kitchen screen, where the kitchen accepts them and can print them. Tickets print on 58 mm and 80 mm thermal printers.
- Cash shifts. Open a shift with a counted opening float, record cash paid in and paid out, and close it with a counted total. Desk shows any difference.
- Discounts and refunds. Managers give discounts and record refunds in Desk.
- Staff accounts and roles. Unlimited staff accounts, with roles for managers, cashiers, waiters and the kitchen. Managers and cashiers can take turns signing in on the same Desk computer.
- Today's sales and reports. Desk shows today's sales. The owner console has sales reports and a CSV export.
- Receipts. Print a receipt on the thermal printer or save it as a PDF.
Desk's screens are in English. Your guests still read the menu in English, Russian or Azerbaijani, in their phone's language, and in English when their phone uses another language.
How Desk works with the QR menu
Desk and the QR menu share one menu. The dishes, sizes and prices you edit in your account are the ones guests see when they scan the table code, and the ones staff sell in Desk. A dish you mark as sold out is not offered for sale in Desk either.
Here is the path of one order on the Growth package:
- The guest scans the QR code on the table and browses the menu on their phone. There is no app to install.
- The guest orders from the table. They pick dishes, sizes and options and send the order themselves.
- The kitchen gets it. The order appears on the kitchen screen. The kitchen accepts it and can print a ticket on the thermal printer.
- Staff close the table in Desk. The table's orders are on its bill, and staff settle it at the till.
Waiters can still take orders the usual way, for guests who would rather talk to a person. Orders from guests and orders from waiters go to the same kitchen.
To see the guest side, read what is a QR menu or visit the free QR menu page.
Who Desk is for
Desk is made for places that serve food and drinks and want the menu, the kitchen and the till in one system:
- Restaurants with halls and tables, where both waiters and guests place orders.
- Cafés and coffee shops that sell at the counter and at the table.
- Bars and tea houses with a drinks list that changes and tables that turn over through the evening.
- Bakeries and cafés with a small shop that sell packaged goods as well as the menu.
If you are still comparing systems, our guide to choosing a POS and QR menu compares seven of them side by side.
What you need
Desk runs on a computer you may already have. The rest is optional:
- A Windows computer with Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, at the counter.
- An internet connection. Table orders, bills, retail sales and cash shifts need it.
- A thermal printer, optional, for kitchen tickets and receipts. Desk prints on 58 mm and 80 mm paper.
- A tablet for the kitchen, optional, if you want the kitchen screen instead of printed tickets, or as well as them.
- Phones or tablets for waiters, optional. The staff workspace opens in the browser, with nothing to install.
- Nothing for guests. They use their own phone camera and browser.
Before your first busy evening, run a few test orders with your own computer and printer, so the team knows where every ticket goes.
